A selection of our writers work their way through the new music of the week gone by. Marie Davidson fuses pop and techno on her full-length.

Montreal’s Marie Davidson readies Adieux Au Dancefloor for Cititrax

Montreal mainstay Marie Davidson has announced her third album, Adieux Au Dancefloor, which is set for release on the Cititrax imprint, an arm of Veronica Vasicka’s Minimal Wave.

Davidson has long been involved in the Montreal music scene, as part of the DFA-affiliated synthwave duo Essaie Pas (who released Demain Est Une Autre Nuit earlier this year), DKMD (with David Kristian), and of course as a solo artist. This latest offering is reported to be her most dancefloor-oriented work to date, as she experiments with pop structures and vocals in a techno context.

Demain Est Une Autre Nuit is set for release in early October on Cititrax and will be pressed on white vinyl. You can check out sound samples over at the Minimal Wave site
